The Cutting Room

Norwich's First Satirical Nightclub

Billed as Norwich's First Satirical Nightclub, The Cutting Room aims to provide all the fun of political and social satire in a genuinely seedy nightclub environment.

The Cutting Room's opening night on Friday 13th March 2009 was unfortunately cancelled due to the almost unbelievable fact that the venue we were using went out of business on the 12th. It was set to feature Patrick Lappin, Rob Jackman, Jeremy Brian and Paul Knight with musical support from Gary Hatecrime, all of whom will no doubt feature in future events.

The Cutting Room finally opened for business on May 4th 2009 at The Marquee in Norwich and was part of the 2009 Fring Festival as well as being the Issue 15 Launch Party for Now or Never Magazine.

The gig featured The Mustard City Rockers, Cakes and Ale, Jeremy Brian, Sweetjugs debut spoken word performance and was hosted by Paul Knight.

Most excitingly of all, The Cutting Room was headlined by punk poet and DIY legend the incredible Attila the Stockbroker, and went off with much drnking, carousing and shouting of slogans.

Keep your eyes peeled for future Cutting Room events including Saturday June 6th when we will be the guest comedy promotion at the Soapbox Promotions one day arts festival at the Norwich Arts Centre.
