King of Hearts to close doors
Long established arts centre due to close at the end of this year.

The trustees of the King of Hearts, on Fye Bridge to the North of Norwich city centre, have been unable to source funding to continue operating after December 2010. They are short on funds because of unexpected maintenance work on their medieval building, as well as the recession.
The programme of events at the arts centre was pleasingly different from other arts centres in the city, with a focus on classical music and story telling in performance art, as well as a full visual arts programme.
It will be a shame to see it go, and we can only hope that something turns up to stop this from happening. Perhaps in the meantime it would be good to show some support by attending events and using their cafe for meetings and lunch.
