The Future's Bright - The Future's Blurry.
Alex James to host local radio show.
Friday 22nd May 2009
The show was recorded in the living room of James' Oxfordshire Mansion. The house, which also accommodates the star's cheese making pursuits, appealed to Guttridge.
'...it wasn't the first time I had been to his house, which is a nice family house in the middle of about 200 acres of countryside, with a cheese farm...
“The room we used was the front room, but it's kept for entertainment. So I balanced all my equipment on the sofa."
The session focuses on music spanning the '20's, '30's, '40's and '50's. Both presenters will discuss James' selection of tracks; the show will have a relaxed and informal feel. Guttridge said:
“I had a big pile of records and we chose ones that looked interesting or that we liked the covers or names of, and we had a listen and drank cups of tea."
Tom Buckham, Station Manager of Future Radio, hope that the broadcast will bring publicity and kudos to his organisation.
“The show has already started to pick up other celebrity listeners like Morrissey from The Smiths, and it's been a great addition to our varied schedule.”
