Guerilla Neon for Festival City
Streets lit up throughout the Norfolk and Norwich Festival.
Tuesday 18th May 2010
You may, however, have missed the various Neon decorations littered around the street corners, rooftops and other unexpected places around the city.
Tim Etchells has placed his signs in unobtrusive spots aound town, spelling out simple phrases, instructons and messages. The artist, writer and performance maker creates moments of intimacy in a public setting, by using direct, specific languge in abstract settings, seeming to blur the distinction between fiction and reality. The work is part of a great many Visual Art events taking place throughout the Norfolk & Norwich Festival.
Look out for the signs next time you pass any one of these sites:
- 68, Prince of Wales Road
- Red Lion Street, opposite Debenhams
- The Bandstand, Chapelfield Gardens
- The Book Hive, London Street
- Jarrolds, London Street
Chapelfield Gardens
Sunshine, cider and song! Host to lots of lovely summer events.
