Spirit Of Carnival - Workshops begin

Norwich Pride workshops begin this week at St. Gregorys'.

Wednesday 26th May 2010

As part of the run-up to the second Norwich Pride Festival (taking place this year on Sat 31 July), workshops to prepare costumes and props have begun.  Participants will create accessories that will be used in the 'Fridi Gras parade' on Fri 9th july.

Starting at St. Gregorys' Centre for the Arts on Wed, 26 May, the evening sessions have been described as family events.  The people behind Norwich Pride have said:

"Fridi Gras is a family event.  It would be brilliant to have lots of children and young people with us".

Spirit of Carnival will be helping out.  The aim is to create a 'courtly theme'.  Jesters and 'Rainbow Kings', queens, princes and princesses will come to life in the six free workshops taking place.

Sessions start at 6.30pm, and run for two hours, on the dates below.  They're free, but the organisers would welcome donations for room hire costs.

St. Gregorys' lies close to Norwich Arts Centre on St. Benedicts' Street.

Workshop Dates:

26th May

2nd June

9th June

23rd June

30th June
