Stephen Leake

Norwich based teacher/poet

Stephen Leake was born in Blackpool, Lancashire, England. He studied Music at Leeds University and the Birmingham Conservatoire.

He is a past winner of the National Poetry Competition and twice winner of an 'Ottakar's/Faber' award.

After qualifying in Birmingham, he taught Music and English for several years in London. His writings have appeared in 'Poetry Review,' 'The North,' 'Agenda' and the 'TES' (under a pseudonym!)

He has two published collections of poetry,'Beyond the Parasol' and 'Blue Twist.'

His poem 'Epitaph' form 2005 is to be published in 'Soul Feathers,' besides Carol Ann Duffy, Benjamin Zephaniah, Leonard Cohen and others.

He now lives in Norwich.
