Cinema City
Recently re-opened, though sadly no longer independent, this cinema has fairly regular showcases of local film.
Cinema City was founded in the mid-Sixties. Ten years later it became the first ever Regional Film Theatre in England. Cinema City has now returned to its original premises on St Andrew Street, after a long rebuild during which the cinema relocated to Norwich Playhouse near by. The cinema is now managed and booked by City Screen Limited which operates a national chain of 'art house' cinemas, called Picturehouse.
